Pegasus Mobile Spyware has Spread to 45 Countries

The dangerous Pegasus spyware, known for affecting iPhones and Android devices has allegedly spread to 45 countries, while six of the countries have used the malware to abuse human rights. The Citizen Lab, which has been scanning the internet in a massive project from 2016 to 2018, held Israeli-based NSO Group offering state-level actors around the world.

NSO Group has been selling the mobile spyware the governments and third parties since 2016 and its capabilities include reading texts, tracking calls, trace passwords and phone locations. The Citizen Lab report has mentioned that the malware has grown more widespread and allegedly has been used by certain countries to abuse human rights.
