Ocean House
By Srinka Datta Roy

Kíl ‘láa! Confused? I was just brushing up my Haida language skills. The latest addition to my bucket list is Ocean House, a ‘floating’, ‘fly-in’ lodge at Stads K’uns GawGa on the remote west coast of British Columbia’s Haida Gwaii archipelago.

Ocean House is anchored in a sheltered bay, with spectacular views of lush green forests, sparkling waters and pristine beaches. If that isn’t enough to lure you, then the luxurious interiors of the twelve-room lodge just might! A sauna, spa, library, theatre, complimentary Wi-Fi…the list is quite long! A stay at this lodge will also give you a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the Haida people.

After Haida House at Tllaal, Ocean House is Haida Enterprise Corporation’s second eco-venture. The highlights of your stay here will include float plane rides to ancient villages, rainforest trekking, kayaking and a first-hand experience of original Haida handicraft.
Do you need any more convincing?
