NextGen Healthcare, Inc. (“NextGen”) filed a notice of data breach with the Attorney General of Montana after learning that a recent data security incident impacting the company’s computer network resulted in confidential consumer information being made accessible to an unauthorized party.

A data breach notice naming Carrington Mortgage Services (“Carrington”) appeared on the “Data Breach Notification Report” generated by the Attorney General of Massachusetts. However, the notice was filed by Alvaria, Inc., which is the company that experienced the breach resulting in Carrington customers’ information being leaked.

A key law enforcement computer network has been down for 10 weeks, the victim of a ransomware attack that has frustrated efforts by senior officials to get the system back up and running — raising concerns about how to secure critical crime-fighting operations.

Americold, a leading cold storage and logistics company, has been facing IT issues since its network was breached on Tuesday night. The company said it contained the attack and is now investigating the incident that also affected operations per customer and employee reports.

United HealthCare made customers aware of a data breach on Friday, which temporarily allowed access to personal information for those enrolled in the company’s healthcare plans.  According to a statement, “suspicious activity” was noticed on the UHC mobile application “that may have led to the disclosure of member information.”
