Beijing is increasing its severe measures to protect the internet and will include any company and service provider in China that uses the internet. China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom are some of the Chinese internet-service providers. According to the new rules, any official inside China’s security apparatus may be able to get in to computer mainframe rooms, company’s premises, or any other workspace to carry out an inspection. On entering the company’s premises security officials can request that internet administrators or supervisors submit to questioning. The officials can also look up and create copies of any information applicable to the inspection. The latest regulations will be put into effect from November 1st. Penal action or administrative punishment could be given for any illegal activities against any company or service provider by security officials.
