Awe-inspiring Alien Theories
By Editorial Team

Alien theories are one of the most fascinating and widely-debated topics among scientists, governments and UFO theorists across the globe. However, most theories and “sightings” rarely capture widespread attention due to a lack of evidence as well as the heavy skepticism that surrounds aliens.

Here are some of the awe-inspiring alien theories from around the world:

  1. The Phoenix Lights

On March 13, 1997, thousands of witnesses in Phoenix, Arizona as well as Sonora reported seeing five V-shaped spherical lights that they believed originated from the engine of a UFO. The UFO was said to be the size of a Boeing 747. The United States Airforce dismissed these claims, stating that the lights were actually flares dropped by an A-10 Warthog aircraft during a training exercise. However, because the lights reappeared at regular intervals, UFO advocates stuck to their belief that it was an alien spaceship. Some witnesses claim to have seen the V-shaped object blocking the view of the mountain in Prescott Valley, Arizona.

  1. NASA’s Secret Space Fleet

Scottish hacker Gary McKinnon, known for hacking into various U.S National Security websites as well as the NASA website, claimed to have discovered mysterious pictures and information about extraterrestrial life. According to McKinnon, NASA was being used as a proxy agency to maintain a fleet of spaceships for the purpose of protecting Earth from alien and interstellar threats. McKinnon also disclosed that NASA had several processed and unprocessed pictures which hid alien spaceships from satellite imaging.

  1. Black Knight Satellite

When Nikola Tesla was conducting radio experiments in 1899, he discovered radio signals from a satellite named ‘Black Knight’. NASA also released a picture of the satellite, but had no clue as to its origins given that no country had the requisite technology. UFO theorists believe that Black Knight is a 13,000-year old alien artifact that is orbiting the Earth. Though NASA claims that the satellite is actually a thermal blanket lost during an Extravehicular Activity (EVA) mission, the signals heard by Tesla in 1899 and by an amateur radio operator 1928 remain unexplained.

  1. Alien Megastructure

In September 2015, NASA’s Kepler telescope made a strange discovery that even today continues to baffle scientists. The telescope discovered a star named KIC 8462852 which demonstrated unprecedented behavior. Data from the telescope found that the star experienced sudden dips in brightness over the years. Alien theorists believe that a giant alien megastructure is utilizing the energy of the star located fifteen hundred light years away. Scientists are yet to decode the mystery of KIC 8462852. With  the advent of deep-space exploration technologies, this could only be the tip of the iceberg, with more strange discoveries on the horizon.

  1. The Roswell Incident

One of the most popular and thoroughly debunked UFO theories of all time, the Roswell Incident took place in 1947 in New Mexico.  A secret nuclear testing surveillance device that crashed was mistaken for a UFO. Subsequently, the government released a statement claiming that it was a weather balloon, triggering a range of alien cover-up theories. However, conspiracy theorists believe that some astronauts were sent to a planet called Serpo – thirty seven light-years away – in exchange for rescuing aliens from the crash site of the Roswell incident.
