On April 7, 2026, both houses of the Alabama legislature unanimously voted to pass the Alabama Personal Data Protection Act (“APDPA”). Governor Kay Ivey signed the bill into law on April 17, 2026, making Alabama the 21st state to adopt a comprehensive consumer privacy law.
